What is a district energy system?

District heating and cooling (district energy system) and other distribution systems for other energy gases are these days among the most reliable, environmentally acceptable and economically effective systems of supply end consumers with heat and other energy gases.

Buildings, connected to the district energy system, do not need its own source for heating or cooling, and the system itself provides valuable benefits, such as:

  • increased energy efficiency
  • better protection of the environment
  • easy operation and maintenance
  • reliability
  • comfort and convenience
  • lower investments costs
  • lower operational and maintenance costs
  • greater flexibility in architectural design

You can find information about the Energy Agency's task in the field of distribution of heat and other energy gases, connection to the system, the price of heat, general conditions of supply and more on this web page: District energy systems
