Retail market

The Slovenian organized electricity market consists of the wholesale and retail market. In the retail market, suppliers and traders conclude open contracts, in which the quantities of supplied electricity and the time profile of supply are not set in advance. Consumers pay for the supplied electricity according to actual consumption.

Borzen,d.o.o., electricity market operator, is, according to the Energy Act, mandated to record all contracts concluded on the organized market. Thus, the market operator registers all agreed contractual obligations by which electricity is purchased or sold in Slovenia, or is transferred across the regulated area. This activity includes the recording of all contracts between the Balance Scheme Members, all export and import contracts and closed business transaction on the power exchange. In addition, Borzen in the form of operational schedules of production and consumption keeps the records of the contracts between the suppliers, customers and electricity producers.
